Guy Boyd's
Sunday School Class at Park Avenue Baptist Church
|
For the last 31
years, Guy Boyd has been my Sunday School teacher. Not
only has his teachings impacted my life, but his life-style has
also impacted my life because his life-style is indicative that
his teachings are real. I have seen Guy model his teachings
outside the church. It makes me know that it is real in his
life. I have seen how he handles trials and stressful situations.
Only eternity
will tell the impact that he has had not only on our church but
God's kingdom as a whole. He has given me a greater love and
appreciation for God's word. I will be eternally grateful for all
the years that I have had the great pleasure of sitting at his
feet and being fed the word.
Yours truly, J.C. Branum |

My wife and I
have been members of Guy Boyd's class for a number of
years. I can honestly say that Guy is the best Sunday School
teacher that I have ever known. The key to his success in
teaching is the fact that it is real to him and an integral part
of his life. I asked him once how he prepares for his lessons and
he told me that he doesn't believe in preparing for a lesson he
believes you prepare the person. He has certainly done that. Guy
is the finest example of a person allowing the Holy Spirit to live
in and through him that I have ever known. I wish that everyone
could have the privilege of being taught by him.

Guy has
always been so sensitive to my feelings and need to be
encouraged. I enjoy the conversations we have had about God's
word and how it affects our lives when we put into practice the
teachings. He is always so practical. Also, he is so humble
trying not to attract attention to himself. We can all relate to
him and his way of life. He has always encouraged me to want to
be closer to our Lord; that we don't have to be pretentious for
the Lord loves us just as we are.
